Nine folds
The European Plastic Surgeons Association accepts to measure the degree of specialization in the folds. The term maritime has been introduced in medical terminology to denote professional proficiency. The European certification consists of eleven members covering the entire spectrum of plastic surgery. E. Jurshevich has nine such members, according to European certification.

Patented methods
He has developed and patented a number of innovations in aesthetic surgery. In 2007, two patents were obtained from the Federal State Scientific Institution Russian Scientific Center of Surgery named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky - "Method of tissue tightening of the lower two-thirds of the face." His achievements in the field of liposculpture and endoscope surgeries are most known. E. Yurshevich has three patents of the Latvian Republic for the development of a lipomodelling (liposculpture) technique, incorporated by a patented trademark LIPEX. This effective technique of figure correction is applied today in many clinics of aesthetic medicine of Europe. He has advanced in traditional techniques of endoscopic rejuvenating operations. E. Yurshevich is the author of a series of scientific publications, including his monograph “Endoscopic lifting of forehead skin with a lift of eyebrows”. Eduard Yurshevich has three patents of the Republic of Latvia for the development of lipomodelling (liposculpture) techniques, united by the patented trademark “LIPEX". Today this effective figure correction technique is used in many esthetic medicine clinics in Europe. He has improved the traditional methods of endoscopic anti-aging surgeries. Eduard Yurshevich is the author of many scientific publications, including the monograph “Endoscopic lifting of the skin of the forehead with eyebrow lifting”.
Education
E. Yurshevich has successfully defended two dissertations for supreme scientific degrees — in the Russian Scientific Centre of Surgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2003). In 2004 the Academic Council at the Latvian University awarded an academic status of the Doctor of Medical Sciences to him. In October, 2010 in Moscow a Medical Doctor's degree dissertation was successfully defended. The theme: “Radicalism and safety in surgical treatment of the face age changes”.
Lecturers and educational work
For many years E. Yurshevich has been giving lecturers at the most significant European and international forums of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons and oncologists. He is a full member of some international communities of plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Owing to his high professionalism, innovative ideas and faultless reputation, doctor Yurshevich is known outside Latvia. People from Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Czechia, France, Sweden, Poland, the USA, Israel, Germany, Ireland and other countries come to be operated by him. He is often invited to the top-clinics of Moscow, Odessa and Kiev to perform demonstration and scheduled aesthetic operations.
D. M. E. Yurshevich conducts active educational work. He is a member of editorial council of scientific magazine "Annals of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery", which publishes the Society of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons of Russia. During more than еight years he has been a member of Editorial Board of the scientific magazine of the Russian Society of Plastic Surgeons and Oncologists. More than thirteen years E. Yurshevich has been a scientific adviser and the leader of the column “Surgery of Beauty” in the international magazine about beauty and health “Kosmetik Baltikum”, published in Latvia. He cooperates with the Russian and Ukrainian magazine “Les Nouvelles Esthetiques” and others.
